Biography

Fernando P. Cossío is a professor of organic chemistry at the EHU. He is the author of more than 260 publications in indexed international journals, and 14 patents. Likewise, he has supervised 28 doctoral theses. In 2020, he received the medal of the Real Sociedad Española de Química and the Euskadi Research Award. In 2022, he was distinguished as a member of the Chemistry Europe Fellows class of 2020/21. Currently, he is the scientific director of Ikerbasque, the Basque Foundation for Science. He is also a corresponding member of the Real Academia de Ciencias de España and president of the Real Sociedad Española de Química.
